Well, hats off to the Thrashers. They beat Ottawa last night in a close game that saw them dominate for at least half of the game. That ends Ottawa's win streak a 6. They are still 2nd overall next to the Red Wings.

The new Thrasher lines are looking OUTSTANDING. A 6-2 win against the Lightning then taking down Ottawa. I see the Thrashers going to the playoffs again this year.

And I STILL haven't been able to go to a game.

Either way, GO THRASHERS!!

Then we come back to get a BRUTAL beating by the Sabres...

I could hardly watch.

It was nice to see Boulton take down 2 of the Sabres.

Talking oldtimers hockey trivia

so, Im not the only one here at Ye Olde Folkes Inn who remembers the days of "Rocket Richard" ... ther's a guy in here from Flin Flon Manitoba who was raised French Canadian on a farm ... anybody here besides me ever heard of the Flin Flon Bombers ??? no, they weren't NHL, but many of their players went up ... anybody else ever heard of Gordie Howe and the Detroit Redwings???

meanwhile, the q of the day that I stumped my buddy with was about "Toe" Blake ... Q = who was he for which team and what was his real first name ...
I'm not sure if it's on Google or not ... I just remember from the good ol' days of the "Original 6" ... further meanwhile, anybody else here ever heard of Andy Bathgate or Bobby Hull or Johnnhy Bower or Frank Mahovlich???
c'mon, hockey fans ...

believe it or not, I even played against Bobby Orr in the Muskoka- Parry Sound district playoffs back about 40 years ago, and he went on to become a superstar, winning the Stanley cup whilst I was destined to become a MusicManpiezo lover
would I lie about matters of such importance.

So are we talking about Hector Blake that played for the Montreal Maroons and the Montreal Canadiens from the mid 30s to the late 40s?

My Senators have both Dany Heatley and Alfie injured. Not looking good...

I heard that Hossa does not want to sign with Atlanta next year. His contract will be up at season end and he's an unrestricted free agent. Maybe he's trying to force a trade before the deadline. I'm sure he'll be much harder to pick up these days with the salary cap.

I've heard different things about Hossa. I really hope he stays though. I'm just glad we have Recchi now. The combo of Kovalchuk, Hossa, and Recchi is destructive.

I don't think Kovalchuk gets enough credit. Man, is he fast and he's got a bullet of a shot!
