This is our local AHL team, I'm going to opening night this Saturday. While I am not really a big hockey fan I know it will be a good time, and for $10 tickets it ain't a bad deal!

The AHL like the OHL ( Ontario ) and other leages/teams in the same level of hockey offer some great games and talent . These kids are out there working their asses off trying to get into the NHL and getting paid little to do it plus putting in long hours on busses as well as continuing their education .
$10 for those games is a bargain and IMHO a better deal then you have to pay for NHL games .

It is the sport. I truly do not understand the popularity of football, baseball and to lesser degree, basketball. The only two sports I am interested in are hockey and soccer (English Premier League, to be more precise).

I agree. The Ducks outplayed them, there's no doubt about it. They had the ability and talent though. I was surprised at the way it turned out especially since the Sens plowed through all the other teams to get there.

I am still a little bitter that Pronger only got one game for his hit to the head, especially since he had a similar infraction in the previous series! Look at that new guy for Philly that got 20 games for his hit on McAmmond in the preseason. He'll never make the league now. A little bit of inequality?

If Pronger still played for a Canadian based team, you can be sure that he would have received more (think Domi with his stupid elbow to Scott Neidermeyer in a series a few years ago). If Ottawa had not made it to the finals, then guaranteed that Downey would not have been so severely punished as he apparently had been - put that hit in a game between Philadelphia and Minnesota Wild and what happens? A five minute charging penalty.

Oh, please please please, can't NBA take Bettman back?????

Ok since when did Nylander go to the Caps?

My Thrashers are down 1 - 0 but it's only the first period.

The good news is that you have Marian Hossa. Oddly enough, that was a good trade for both teams (Ottawa and Atlanta, Dany Heatley).

Thrashers are now down 2 - 0 ...
