Every town in Canada is Hockey Town!
Oh, you mean Hockey Town USA...

You are the first to chime in as a Wings fan.

The only people who call it "Hockey Town" are redwings fans (uncapitalized intentionally ). It's just like the only people who call Green Bay "Title Town" are packers fans. (also uncapitalized intentionally). Everywhere else, they're known as the Deadwings from Detroilet.

Ouch!! I heard Wayne Gretsky on Espn Radio yesterday call Detroit HockeyTown. He might know a little, eh?

"Detroilet"! hahaha That is so on. Every town in Canada is Hockey Town... I agree with that. Minnesota the "State of Hockey"? eh... maybe... Detroilet, however, is definitely a state of mind!

So, they finally had to lose one.
Ottawa 5-1-0

Wow, the Thrashers got dumped this evening 6-0 by the Sabres. I am starting to think the name the Thrashers means that they take a thrashing every game!

Yes. Thanks for pointing that out.

They did pretty good in preseason but the fact that we've got 4 rookies skating is hurting us as well. Give us a little time and we'll start puttin' people down left and right. It's the usual way of the Thrashers.

GO THRASHERS!!!

LA Kings fan here... which means I love the abuse. Looks like this year is going to be just as bad as the last several years. The only bright spot is Kopitar, the rest of the team is so-so at best.

Who? The NHL's greatest ambassador?

But on a serious note, a little while ago I went to the Hockey HOF in Toronto. Awesome awesome awesome! Any of you reading this thread are already hockey fans - I highly recommend you go if you get the chance. Loved it.

I'm used to the abuse too. I don't know what I'd do if the Kings ever did a complete 180 and became a respected team, not just a retirement home for hockey vets. Latest rumour has us getting Forsberg. What doesn't kill Kings' fans only makes us stronger.

yeah if you ever look at the NHL a good percentage of them come from the U of M program(the ones that actually go to college hahah) some of my favorites are

Erick Johnson (St. Louis)
Jordan Leopold (Colorado)
Phil Kessel (Boston)
Tomas Vanek (Buffalo)

Those are the ones that are up in the pros right now. Pretty soon you'll be hearing about this stud named Kyle Okposo. he's gonna be somthing.
