Patriots - Undefeated Regular Season

Well, they did it.

As a lifelong Giants fan, I was torn. The game was meaningless to the Giants and I've had such fun watching the Pats this year that I couldn't decide how to feel, you know? The Giants jumped on them and looked capable of winning, but then the Patriots did what they've been doing all year long - making plays, not making mistakes, finding ways to win.

Brady's the best quarterback I've ever seen, and I'm old enough to have seen Staubach, Marino, Montana, Steve Young.....and Brady's just getting warmed up.

So what do you think? Can they pull of a perfect season? Undefeated through the playoffs, win the Super Bowl?

I'd like to see them do it. I really enjoy watching them.

What a game the Giants gave them last night, but Brady seems like he is another level.

Totally unbelievable season by both Brady and a rejuvinated and more mature Randy Moss.

Congrats to the Patriots

I was torn too. I wanted the Giants to win but I wanted the Pats to get the record too. I just want to say the Giants had a pretty good season. Many thought they would stink this season.........including Giant fans. The Pats are a special team.

I don't see how they cannot be perfect thru the playoffs and SB!!

There's no other team at their level - unless of course the RAIDERS!!

(now don't go bashing the Raiders while their down; on second thought, bash em' they deserve it!)

The Pats played great football this year. They have an uncanny knack when it comes to filling voids left by free agency. They definately play as a *team*. I have a lot of respect for Brady and Bellichick, I just don't care for Bellichicks personality after a Pats loss (wich has been awhile). I was one that thought they could go un-defeated in the pre-season. Had a few close calls, but a win is a win. I wish Moss hadn't gotten in the fight in H.S. years ago. He woulda played for the Irish!

BTW... I'm a die hard colts fan, so... GO COLTS!!!!!

I usually tune in to the Super Bowl for the commercials and occasionally, the half-time show...

But, I do appreciate the history making feat of the Patriots and would love to see them continue to win right through the Big Game.

Jack, how's it a good ol' Texas boy comes to be a "life-long" Giant fan!?

I suppose we should all be impressed - after all they did win all their games, even though there was one against the Jets where they had a little "technical assistance" in gaining that victory (ahem...). Is there any reason why, despite the nearly quarter-million dollars in fines and loss of draft picks, they shouldn't be viewed in the same light as Barry Bonds and his claim to fame...is there? Should the Miami Dolphins of decades past feel bettered by this bunch? Or should they feel comfort in the fact that their undefeated season of 1972 was "untarnished"?

Where are the good old days when teams played and won fair and square????

The Pats are unstoppable it seems. Just when you think someone is going to give them a game (like the Giants did), and possibly take them down a peg...they beat you...collectivley, and Brady is a first ballot Hall Of Famer....even if he never plays another down.

Jack...if the Pats aren't in the SB...I'll be shocked, but as cool as it would be if your Giants did well in the postseason...I don't think Eli is consistent enough to get you there.

I'm a Packers fan, so I can't say I'm hoping they win it all this year...but I would love to see a Pat - Packers Super Bowl.

Well....I'm not really a Texan. I have lived here a lot, off and on, but I'm really from Mississippi. Now, how does that make me a Giants fan?

Blame my long-gone father, who had an undying love for them. Don't ask me why, I do not know, nor can I ask him. I just accepted it when I was a kid and then I myself got infected...and here we are.

I didn't expect the Giants to make the playoffs and would have been okay if they hadn't. I suppose it will be a very, very short playoff run for them.

Well, those good old days didn't occur with the Dolphins organization, let's not forget they were found guilty of tampering and forced to give up a 1st round pick back in 1971. It seems they hired Shula while he was still employed by the Colts....there's fair and square for ya

I haven't noticed too many other NFL coaches making a big stink about the taping incident.

That may be instructive.

Couple of thoughts -

The '72 Dolphins didn't play many teams that had winning records that year.
I'm really tired of (former Dolphin LB) Nick Buonoconti's annual champagne toast and pinky ring.

Belichick is great at finding players that can execute his game plan perfectly. He practices for situations at the end of the game which might never come up, but often they do and determine the game's outcome.

Irene Jones, my 80 year old Quaker friend, told me that she believes the '07 Pats are the greatest team she has ever seen assembled, and Quakers always tell the truth.
