How easy it can be with a simple savvy idea, in this age of ad-supported web businesses. The formula: look around at what's hot & in demand, create a site to give it away for free (thereby eventually generating a gazillion hits a day), and the advertisers come knocking. This girl turned her peer-group into an insatiable market. Kudos to her ... still maybe should've finished high school though. Oh well, there's always the G.E.D.

Unlike many adults, Ashley has not succumbed to the temptations that new wealth can bring. She pays herself a modest salary of $3,000 a month. Aside from the house, she hasn't made any other major purchases.
"I don't even know how to put this," says Ashley, "But it's just kind of like the shiny feeling that when you have this money, it kind of goes away after a while. It gets old, you know. Yeah, I can go out and buy you know something really cool. But at the same time I mean I don't really need too much. I like to invest it back into the business."

Sounds like she's got a good head on her shoulders.

It's the sort of idea I always turned down while being in that business... simply because styles for websites it's a very short lived market and drawing money from ads is not really a business model... go figure

The guy who was the venture capitalist for Google, Paypal etc etc was in my class (Howardian high School) in school - Mike Moritz - now a dollar billionaire !!
