What's it like in Inverness?

Smelly - what is the countryside like up there in Inverness (Scotland) It is Scotland isn't it? Have you any pictures of the place? Your favourite pub? Etc. You've said it is "out in the middle of nowhere" so, in my mind it must be a very nice secluded part of the world. What's the local ale like? Clue us in....

And where are you going on Holiday? South of France? Holland? Do tell...

I'll bet Inverness is beautiful this time of year......

Man this board must be slow if I'm getting a non-ball thread!

Inverness is lovely, I knock it a lot to highlight how lucky most of you are having balls at your disposal because of where i am if I want to try a guitar I need to use ebay like a library and buy and sell !

Inverness is pretty - I got this from google images - it's the old town where all the tourists come to

Great restraunts, there's bar called Johnny Foxes, an irish pub live bands every night, great craic.

I live in a place called Evanton is about 20 miles north - sleepy little town, If i didn't have a TV nuclear war could break out and I wouldn't find out about it till monday when I went in to find work no longer on the planet!
Evanton: -

We're going to the lake district for our holiday -(england!) - as it's the first time my wife and I will be traveling with our 2 children Sam 3 and Chloe 1 1/2 - so we don't want to hassle them with airports and delays - plus my folks are gonna come along and help us out with some babysitting! - but next year I fancy florida!! and maybe stop in on the EB folks on the way there or back - I don't know one end of the US from another, but I'm learning!

Hope this helps Jim, thanks for asking!

And if you come over I promise a day's sight seeing on me!

Mike

Right now it's 55 degrees Fahrenheit and partly cloudy in Inverness.

It's 102 here and feels like 108, if you factor in humidity. I HATE Texas in the summer.

"What's it like in Inverness?"

It's a place that will send chills of terror down most any golfer's spine.

Hey thanks Mike - I sure would like to visit the Scotish Highlands someday and Inverness would be a great place to start. I see you are at the head of Loch Ness, and have you taken any forays to the Loch to see if you could spot Nessie?

The area looks beautiful and your little town of Evanton with its 5 streets is pretty laid back - a "commuting settlement" as in what we call a "bedroom town". Bet it's pretty quiet there.

Inverness info

Here's a link of where I live If you're going to be in the States and passig through, I invite you to stop and taste some of our best local wines.

Grand Junction, CO

Cool Jim

Is this where they filmed Mork & Mindy? - I remember the titles!

I'd really like to visit the US - I have an uncle in Boston who've I've not seen in about 25 years, and really fancy the blues trail.

My wife has been before she had her passport stolen I worried if we go back she'll end up in an orange Jumpsuit! - all we have to worry about here is sheep on the road...... but the downside is we don't have any good guitar shops within 250 miles!

Then you would really hate Mississippi in the summer!

Mike, they filmed M&M at Paramount studios in CA. Probably Burbank. Their house on the show was a picture of a house in Boulder CO. though. Boulder is on the other side of the continental divide. We're in the boonies over here in GJ. 250 miles from Salt Lake City or Denver.

Here's a better link to info about our little city..

Visit Grand Jct

Our downtown Main Street was one of the first like it in the USA. It's pretty artsy fartsy down there. Check the link out..

With the exchange rate as it is now is a good time to visit the US.
