Louis Blues poem for the weekend # 3
Hi folks,
Another weekend, another Blues poem. this one dealing with that tricky situation of people not returning your calls, not being able to see them. The line about the handle on the door comes from a remark by Bo Diddley (something along the lines of "I was the handle on the door that others walked through, just left me with the handle"). Have a great weekend and week. Louis. No Call Blues. Left here with a handle While others pass through that door. Yes I’m left here with a handle While others pass through that door. Seems you’re always leaving numbers But they don’t call me anymore. They said he’s in a meeting Or out meeting folks in town. Well they said he’s in a meeting Or out meeting folks in town. Don’t want to keep on tappin’ Cos you’re making me your clown. Seems this really isn’t working So I’ll find another ruse. Seems this really isn’t working So I’ll find another ruse. I’ll just get me rich and famous Then you’ll taste the no call blues. From "Mr. Blues" All contents © Louis J. Casson , Cryptic Furnace Press, 2009 All rights reserved. |
