What is your favourite Dixie Dregs Track?

Hey guys,

I have been delving into the work of the Dixie Dregs recently. Its quite hard to find their stuff in the shops over in the UK so I recently recieved 'Night of the Living Dregs' via mail order from the US. What are some of the best Dixe Dregs tracks.

I just cant get over how good the sound is on the Montreux recordings on That album.

Any advice on what records to chec out would be kool. I am keen to play some tracks on the radio and bring back some Fusion/ Prog flavour to the airwaves :-)

Chris,

Didn't I see you on the Marshall Forum? Good to see you here.

My favorite track is "Rock and Roll Park", from Unsung Heroes, probably my favorite record/disc. It rocks kinda like Punk Sandwich, and T Lavitz does a great soprano sax solo. Steve is on fire, of course. Unsung Heroes is the disc that my college roomate turned me on to back in '81...the first Dregs I ever heard, and still my favorite.

Keith, I have to agree with your picks as well, but I have to also go with Adam on R & R Park. Truth be said, every freaking cut on that album is a gem.

The Bash also happens to be John Petrucci's favorite Dregs track.

I don't think I've ever heard the first Dixie Dregs song.

I found Steve Morse during my time in the Navy...a buddy of mine introduced me to this old cat one day in the berthing compartment.

Being the cocky, resident guitar-slinger I handed this guy my buds guitar before I played the first note...his tune of choice was "On The Pipe". Played it pretty much flawlessly as I remember now having heard the original quite a bit.

Needless to say, I did NOT play anything that particular day but I did learn a valuable lesson...Humility is a Virtue and Ego has no place in the world of guitar.

Thanks to this thread, I can go searching for some Dixie Dregs songs now!
