Questions for Albert Lee

OK, Albert Lee will be here soon for some EBMM clinics (If you want to go please email me for details). Since not everyone can attend, post your question you've always wanted answered and I'll do my best to ask him for you.
My question is "do you still have that pink burst prototype with Axis on the headstock"? Lets keep it to one question per post please...

i did think of that!!! But then Albert would probably say oh-so-politely that he wallops my ass as a player of the AL, so it doesnt matter diddly squat if i happen to have more, which i doubt anyway, he would have many many AL's i'm sure.

Will be so great if plays a lick or two on one of my AL's, i'd never change those strings!!!!

Q. What do you think of the MM90's as opposed to the SSS?

Albert played Telecasters for years, mostly bridge pickup like so many other country twangers.

Since he switched to Al he started using the in between pickup settings exclusively, those typical Strat 'quack' sounds. I always kind of wondered why he never seems to use the bridge pickup (on its own) in his signature model, it twangs like the best Telecaster bridge pu.

Now, those 2&4 positions kill any Strat for sure but i just expected a former Telecaster country player to use the bridge pickup rather then something else.

Ask him if he ever thought about playing left handed.... you see where this is going, right?

Hey Spud

I asked Albert your question and he said that he loves the MM90 pickups as well. To quote him "I have one of my guitars with them fitted and I love the sound, the bell like sound I get with the single coils is more suited to the country stuff I play".

I asked him heaps of questions at soundcheck and will post the responses as I get time, he was a real gentleman.
