Petrucci has left the building
well the final clinic is finished and I just want to say thank you to JP and BP for making these happen. John is a quiet guy with a great sense of humour and is the absolute professional. The time he devotes to his fans was the thing I noticed the most, amazing.
Here's a few questions he answered. What do you think of those internet parodies of you? JP: Man they are hilarious, have you seen the G3 parody? Check it out very funny. Will a tab book of your solo album ever be released? JP: Yes and very soon, I've just approved it and it's accurate. What do you think about Mike Portnoys spitting habit? JP: Disgusting, especially when it gets on my guitar cable. One last thing John noticed we had some finger ease for him to use during the clinic. He said "Oh, somebody here knows me" and sprayed it under his arms like deodorant. Very funny. ![]()

Must've been great colin.
Hope it translates into much business. Those JP clinics are great. The one I went to w/JP and Sterling was as much fun as going to a concert (cause you get the personality of both as a bonus).

I'm just curious, but how is the seating arranged at those clinics?
Is it basically just general admission and seating? Or assigned seating? Man, how cool would THAT be to have front row seats... I attended a Vinnie Moore clinic here in Minneapolis back in the late 80's (at the U of M Hilton, I believe) which was REALLY COOL, but since that was like 100 years ago I don't remember the seating arrangements....I just remember being about in the middle and off to the right a bit and getting my brain FRIED by Vinnie's chops! I suppose there's little chance that JP or any of these guys will be back here to do any clinics anytime soon...I'd really love to see a Morse clinic... |

We had some forumites in the front row (they also got to see soundcheck). Other than that, it was first in best dressed.

Which guitar was he playing? In the pic, it looks like a regular Mystic Dream or (whatever colour) model....No painted neck? And are those just 2 Road Kings, or a RK and a Mark IV?
Woot! I have that same delay pedal! DD-20.

Thanks for organizing the clinic Colin and EBMM!
It was great to see Petrucci up close and a rare chance for us mere mortals to see him play something outside of the G3 / DT world! For those that couldn't make it I would like to confirm that he is human and made one or two mistakes There was a couple of other questions thrown at him regarding tendonitis and nerve damage etc... that John handled very well. The pics I took for some reason all came out blurry (go figure at such an event) except for one of John signing a photo I don't know how to post the pic like Colin did above ^^^.
