9.5 - 44's
I really like 9.5 - 44 gauge sets. (9-42 feel too light, 10-46 feel a bit stiff). I sure wish EB would add these gauged sets!!

" 'Mikeller' I threw this same thread on the fire, not too long ago.
Seems like there just aren't enough of us, that long for that particular gauge, to make it financially feasible. I also pointed out, that was probably what Gibson and Black Diamond said - - just before Ernie Ball came out with 'Slinkys' . But, hell, I'll let them run the string company and I'll stick to playing guitar - whatever I have to string it with. " M.S. Last edited by Mayor Stoner; 10-08-2008 at 07:15 AM. Reason: misspelling |

The standard answer from Big Poppa is that the tolerances in making strings is essentially 0.0005". So, really, a 0.009 string could really be a 0.0095 string, or a purported 0.0095 could really be a 0.009. They can't get any more exact than that.

There's a difference. Even with the variable, it all moves up a notch. The difference is even more noticeable between a 42 and 44. For me, the transition halfway with Hybrids feels unnatural, too big of a jump. EB sooner or later will hear the wailing of us 9.5ers. And if not, that's ok too.
