Praise: Ernie Ball Coated Slinky Strings 3123

This is a praise to Big Poppa & EBMM from my 16 yrs old son Marco, who for the last 2 years had been using only D'A****** strings on his guitar, he has quite sweathy hands and the previous brand of strings, were rusting within the first week.

As soon as I've heard about these Ernie Ball coated strings I suggested that he should try a set, and see how long they would last him and what would be difference in sound. Bear in mind he doesn't yet have a musicman guitar but an Ib****z, because being a young rocker he likes these pointy headstock things, but I am trying to coach him towards a nice Axis from the Sterling by MM series. So as soon as they are available lefthanded or if I manage to find a decently priced leftie EBMM Axis I would help him get one.

Anyway he is totally impressed with the coated strings!! We fitted these on Feb 15th '09 and they lasted him up to now, the only reason we've changed them today for another set, was because they were starting to show wear in the fretboard area, where fret marks were finally digging in. Two months is not bad for a set of strings, I must say before we changed them, they still sounded pretty bright and clean, and if it wasn't for the fret marks on the strings starting to affect tuning, we could have probably run them for another couple of weeks.

I've also got him an Ernie Ball power string winder and oh boy!! using this tool makes string change a very fast and easy task, every home should get one, they're grrreat!

So well done BP & Ernie Ball on a fantastic set of strings, my son Marco sends you a big Thank You, and please hurry launching the bass equivalent coated strings because I can't wait to try these on my Bongo and Stingray.

Very cool story. I love the coated Slinkys. They're all I use now. I've the same set on my Koa JP for about 5-6 weeks now with no signs of rusting, and they still sound great. I love these strings. So from another forumite, thanks EB!
