Rebuying strings.

Being the total noob that I am at guitar I cut the strings from the headstock too short and pretty much screwed my high e string up (they broke off) and looking at it the G string may go that may whilst keeping it in tune and what not.
Hence, is it possible to buy strings individually or do I just have to buy another packet and use just two of those strings.

Most reputable guitar shops will sell "singles" specially Ernie Ball strings.

Cut the strings about 2.5 inches past the post then fit it in the slot and wind 'em up good.

We have all been there! And Ernie Ball will help you out by having whatever single string you need.

I cut them after they're in place, securely tightened and tuned, the closest possible to the tuner, am I doing it wrong?

RocketRalf, that's the right way. It is always fun to leave them long. it will help keep your singer away from you.
