ernie ball super strap lock question

hello guys, i was wondering if you can set up the strap lock without having to drill the guitar holes :S??

you just use the existing holes for the strap buttons you already have

theres no need to drill?? cause i saw once a video of a guy tacking out the strap buttons and drilling to put the strap lock:S

Since the super lock screws are resessed into the button it is actually best to follow the provided instructions and drill out the hole. As the screw isn't designed to drill and cut through wood. Use a 7/64's drill bit and drill 1 1/2 inches into the guitar/bass. Drew shows a great technique here using tape to mark the bit at 1 1/2 inches insuring a perfect fit.
