It has been a privilege to of been a member here since June of 07. This place has been like my second family (without the drinking).

In March of 08 I was laid off and still have no job or any irons in the fire. Picking up my guitar and just playing for myself has helped keep me sane during these stressful times.

I have exhausted my savings & my unemployment insurance and now live on Social Assistance. I lost my mother last November, I filed bankruptcy last February, I lost my Jeep and I sold my beloved 2006 Axis last month to help with some bills. I now have to sell my AX40 to help with more bills. Having no guitar is really going to suck!

As soon as I get back on my feet, a Mystic Dream JP will be on order.

If it OK with all you fourmites, I plan on staying a member even thought I don�t own an EBMM guitar. I hope thats ok with everyone.

THe first one is a Spalted Top with a full Mahog body and rosewood fretboard
the second is a new color exclusive to jp it is alder bodied with a finish that is a very very slight sparkle that is silky black with a killer roasted birdseye neck....the third is a cherry burst with a wicked top

recently a friend of mine came to see me with his Luke, he was having some problems with the selector switch, it was an easy fix..:)

so after I'd fixed the guitar I took some pics... this is all natural... the guy is a pro who gigs hard.. I should say the guitar sounds amazing and plays beautifully...:D

Luke & Axis with BFR necks

I was in Guitar Center earlier today and they had both a Luke and an Axis that were both standard models but they had necks with the BFR logos on them. Both guitars had standard hardshell cases and were priced as standard models. They also had an Axis BFR model. The Luke is candy red and played very nice. Might be a way to pick up a good Christmas present !

The GC is in ridgeland mississippi.

7 String Pickup Height Question

Hey guys, I've been more of a lurker on the forums then a poster. I have 2 ernie ball Petrucci's one 6-string and one 7-string. I've had them for about 7 or 8 years.

Now I love the 6 string but something has always bugged me about the 7 string. The bridge pickup on the 7 string sticks up a lot higher then the 6 string and because of this i cannot get the action low enough on the 7 string guitar without the strings almost sitting right on top of the bridge pickup or hitting the bridge pickup.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I could do to get this straightened out. I've though about routing out the bridge pickup cavity to make it deeper but don't want ruin the finish on the guitar. And obviously it's out of warranty.

So any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First there was Orianthi making waves with her "This Is It" performance and the much lauded Grammy performance where she apparently outshone Carrie Underwood, then releasing her first US alsum "Believe". But that one was more pop/rock, and I thought the efforts to show off her chops weren't too great, though there were some good moments on that album.

Then now I stumble across Joanne Shaw Taylor. I got her release this year "White Sugar", and honestly? It's great! Killer Tele Tones, soulful voice (Orianthi still sounds like a Britney Spears who can actually sing) and actually pretty good songwriting.

(I didn't want to post a picture of her, since every pic I could find has her holding a Tele... I don't want BP screaming at me this early in the morning...:D)

She's very SRV-like in this album, with some hints of Albert Collins and some Freddie King. I'm hearing a lot of old blues from her, but what's really cool is she manages to stay a bit away from some of the old cliche licks most of the time. The solo playing I find is a bit not so inspiring (I mean, it's good, but it's not WOW), but her rhythm work is killer. I can't remember the last time I've heard a Tele sound so nice and upfront. I wish there were more recordings like this.

Her voice is like a mix between Richie Kotzen and Eric Martin. A bit more rough and breathy than Bonnie Raitt's. She's a bit less fiery than SRV, but more soul.

Oddly, I also find her stuff a bit John Mayer-esque. But the good JM rather than the bad JM. More like his "Try" Album rather than "Continuum".

Definately worth checking out!

P.S. Oh, she's British.:p

Has anybody out there noticed that the more martinis you consume,the worse your GAS gets..and if you go for the expensive,hic, really hi test rocket fuel....that you completely lose it and become a slave to....the Bay...sheesh.

I want to buy a 3rd JP...but should I wait until 2011?

2011 would be the 10 year annyversary of this model..right?.. I hope something special is done for that year... so I think I'll wait and see (but I have been gassing for a DD2 for a while now...:()
