you guys are being way too harsh. it just seems to me that those singers have chosen to sing in the key of "off" and sometimes the key of "way-off".

Alright, I'm throwing this into the ring as a nominee

YouTube - Complete - Hot As Hell

Or of course, check out all of the other offerings by Complete on You Tube, they should all be contenders!!!

What about Florence Foster Jenkins? She's a strong contender for worst singer ever... YouTube - Florence Jenkins massacres Mozart
Wikipedia says: "Upon her father's death in 1909, Jenkins inherited a sum of money which allowed her to take up the singing career that had been discouraged by her parents and former husband. (...) At the age of 76, Jenkins finally yielded to public demand and performed at Carnegie Hall on October 25, 1944. So anticipated was the performance that tickets for the event sold out weeks in advance."

And don't forget The Shaggs...
YouTube - The Shaggs "My Pal Foot Foot"
Wikipedia says: "The conceptual beginning of The Shaggs came from Austin Wiggin, Jr.'s mother. During Austin's youth she had predicted during a palmreading that he would marry a strawberry blonde woman, that he would have two sons after she had died, and that his daughters would form a popular music group. The first two predictions came true, so Austin set about making the third come true. Austin withdrew his daughters from school, bought them instruments, and arranged for them to receive music and vocal lessons. (...) Reportedly, during the recording sessions the band would occasionally stop playing, claiming one of them had made a mistake and that they needed to start over, leaving the sound engineers to wonder how the girls could tell when a mistake had been made."

There are a bazillion amateur singers that suck.
My short list of "professional" singers that have made a bundle of $$$ singing, that make my eyelids twitch every time I hear them is;
Bob Dylan
Tom Petty
Darius Rucker (Hootie & the Blowfish)

I like their songs but I wish someone else would have sang them. lol

Oh, I thought the thread meant, worst signed/contracted known singer.

If it was that case I was going to nominate Good Charlotte's lead like 1,000,000 times.

Joe Sandalo! (I think it's Joe, anyway) Gave me some good laughs back a few years. His Dream Theater covers are hilarious. Quite the guitar player though!

and, someone mainstream, Daron Malakian. Whiny, little *****

I hate to say it because I still consider the older Chillis stuff to be one of my main influences, but I'm going to have to say Anthony Keidis...

He has a "Unique" vocal that sounds ok when he's doing that funk metal rap type thing, but when he actually tries to sing properly...

...beware...
