Jimmy Herring - Lifeboat

Jimmy Herring has brought out his first solo album. For all those who dont know of him he's recorded and/or toured with ARU, Jazz is Dead, Phil Lesh, Allman Brothers Band, Project Z and DTB amongst others. He's not to everyones taste but do yourself a favour and check out some of his playing on youtube. Here's a little taste, you have to wait until 5:20 for his emotive solo tho

Jimmy is my favorite musician...not just guitarist, but musician...I caught the tour at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta and stood 5 or 10 feet away from him the entire time...unbelievable experience...the album hasn't left my CD deck in the car since the day it was released

Jimmy Herring is incredible, one of my favorites.

Everyone should watch and learn from this guy.

Here are some great videos from back in the 1985 when he was at GIT:

cover of Steve Morse's On The Pipe

cover of Steve Morse/Albert Lee's General Lee

ahaha, yeah, totally did the "Frankencaster" mod.

(obviously) Mr. Morse was a huge influence on him.
