25th Anniversay revied....

In this month's english magazine "Guitarist" there is a double review on both the 25th Anniversary guitar and bass.

My friend Tony had a copy in his house and I read it thoroughly, it is actually a very good review, in conclusion, they just can't fault either instruments and they scored them very high, the bass even gets their "Guitarist Exclusive" seal of approval and the score it's 4.9 stars out of five.

The only complaint they had for both instrument, was in the limited choice of colours, which I put it down to the fact that being a mainstream music mag, they don't not understand or appreciate that these are a limited one off series. They also moaned about the price.

Their best praises went to the 25th bass saying that if gives an unlimited variety of sounds and aural possibilities that its competitors don't have.

Good stuff!

I hate guitar magazines.......If you have to explain that the anniversary is a limited offering and appearance package then I give up.

I know you hate mags but BP its not all that bad if you knew how conservative the british press is, you see, they wear Fender and Gibson blinkers most of the times. They don't usually go out of their way to make an effort for anyone else meaning companies other than F or G, so we need to at least appreciate that for them to really have rated your guitars as close as possible to their top scoring system, it is a substantial achievement.

Rest assured a lot of people read these mags here and the reviewer's good impression will be no doubt be passed on to their readers. The 25th is a guitar difficult to overlook.

Personally I really do believe that the colour which they are offered in is one of the most stunning there is, I couldn't care if it came in a whale blue or amethist green, to be frank, the guitars are stunning and the sound that comes from them, makes them all the colour of the rainbow and more than justify the price of them.

"Guitarists" review of the Y2D turned my head, and moved me towards this forum. But, that said, I've played guitars they rated 5* and had to question which particular barbituate they were favouring at that time.

Over the past 15 years since Ive been buying the UK guitar mags they have always done excellent work reviewing some great EBMM guitars, I think every model has been reviewed with at least 2 pages of great pics and a long review, with a great audio demo on the accompanying cd, cant beat that. I find Guitarist does great reviews too, it was their review of the Luke that made me buy my first EBMM, the audio demo was superb and went through all the pickup sounds- clean and dirty- thats how all reviews should be, not just a demo of ones style of playing.

Hey BP... I really would like to have a flamed 25th 4HSS maple neck in BFR Emerald Green. Maybe we don't call it a 25th; maybe we call it a 26th? Please don't kill me!

Ron Richardson: Yeah? Are you gonna make it all 220?
Jack Butler: Yeah. 220... 221, whatever it takes.

EGOs Unite

Whoa! The Emerald Green 25th bass is starting to pickup some steam! Thanks guys for your support and good taste.

BP- are you listening?

I'm thinking it could be the Merry Christmas Edition of the 25th. Make them super special:

Make only 25 of them
Match the top and pickup config to the 25 BFR rosewood necks that were done
Make it a one-off color called Ever Green for Christmas (with a color name like this, you would never have to make a green one again)
Give them a BFR rosewood neck, but make the fretboard figured maple
Include the BFR inlay at the 12th fret

This would be so hot, I guarantee they would all sell-out even though regular guitar dorks don't buy green. There's always rosewood fretboards on a maple neck... I've never seen it the other way around and EBMM is just the crew to make it happen. I would buy the counterpart to my #4 of 25 25th BFR rosewood immediately and also the 4HSS version.

EGO = Emerald Green Owners
