however, when i put 3 springs back on i found that it fluttered fine! - i was thinking this might be because now the springs had been stretched out a bit. i experimented between 3 springs straight and 3 springs with the v-shape, and found that the v-shape gave me slightly more flutter.

(i spoke to music man and they have sent me 2 more slightly higher tension springs for me to try 2 springs again.)

what is your experience with this? also, how does the tremol-No affect the flutter?

one more small thing, when i put the guitar into drop-D it stays virtually in tune (with 3 springs), which is great! have you had similar luck?

    thanks a lot)

    Hi there,

this is ashley from the UK. i recently purchased a JP6 LE 2008 sequoia gold (i'll post some pics later). i was just reading your thread about the tremol-No on your JP6 and found it very interesting.

you may be able to help with a few quesions i have.

firstly, how's the tremol-No been recently? i really love the feel of the JP trem, especially the way it flutters, and wouldn't want to lose too much of the original feel.

how do you get the most flutter out of the trem? i originally had 3 springs (straight), and there was virtually no flutter. so i put in 2 springs instead (in a v-shape) and the flutter was great....but then the bridge was too high, and when i was screwing the 2 screws at the back i ran out of room!! the bridge was still far too high.

Hey man, its the lefty bongo player from the party the other night. My name is Corey by the way. Your band sounded great. You guys play much cooler songs than our band. If you have a JP cuz your a dream theater fan you should check out 2 bands... Porcupine Tree, and Oceansize... true progressive bands. Nice meeting you.
