Mystery solved, Dan.
The guy misplaced the plates. I don't know why he did this...Maybe he was looking for some info on the neck pocket, dates, etc... The fact is I got the original plate, number E53178. Can you supply more info on this one? Thanks for the help, Andy

Andy, glad we got all that straightened out!
 Another case closed - so to speak!OK, now for your information - E53178 was completed on 7/26/06. The color is indeed Blue Pearl, and of course is HS rosewood. It was shipped to the aforementioned Consolidated Music based out of Miami, Florida. All right! Enjoy  Dan

I thought Egyptian Smoke is not so green, grayer. I've seen this bass in person, but I've never seen an Egyptian Smoke in person. I love the color, that's why I ask. I want my SR5 to be that color, if possible.

I used to think the same.
But the guy who sold me my SR5 took some pictures of his egyptian smoke ray and it was very greenish. In person, it was what I expect it to be before I saw the pics.

defo metal flake green - thats the first 5 I've seen in that finish.Mostly Silhouettes and SR4s from memory
and it looks great with the MHS and white p/up Komp

That's what I was afraid of. I love that color. Probably have my Sterling done in that. And an SR5 shall be purple. Maybe the other way around.

hey, does anybody remember the trans green? ive been saving my money wishing i could afford a musicman sterling and now i get a decent job and learn they dont make that colour anymore. What kinda costs would i be looking at for re-finishing say a natural sterling?
oh and by the way, that flake green would look awesome on a sterling.

I've been thinking about flake green on my Sterling and a purple Ray5.
Alright, you're looking at around $330 for spraying a body. If stripping is needed, it will cost an extra $125. I didn't make these numbers up, I got that as a quote from a company in England that does superb work.

Alright, thank you. I'll look into that, matching the colour will be another challenge ha.
And i'd say do it, that colour is real nice, what kinda pick guard / fretboard combo would you go with there?
