Hi everyone, I posted this in the 'pictures' and 'colors' forums, but thought this might be the best one to get some information on the bass. Sorry if I overposted this, but I'm new. Bought this from a guy a few weeks ago, my first EBMM and I am stoked!! I would call the color candy apple red metallic, but couldn't find it in the EBMM color chart. Looks brand new, plays fantastic!!! I would like to get the basic info: color/year/wood THANKS

Looks like rad red to me. As far as wood, I can tell you it's a rosewood fretboard, maple neck, and ash body.

If he bought it 4 months ago, i'd guess it's either a late 06 or early 07.

Welcome to the forums!

IIRC, rad red is not discontinued.

Phil, no problem, yes, it was originally shipped to CMC, our esteemed Australian distributor.

That is correct, Radiance Red is still an active color. This particular bass was completed on 2/23/04 and was originally sent to a GC.

And the good Dr. (Stankface) is 100% correct about the woods.

Cheers!

Dan

jazz, this appears to be a Trans Blueburst that we used to offer on the basses. However, your serial number does not match up with that. Can you recheck it? It can be hard to see through the intonation screws and springs. on the bridge.

that is definitely the right number: 50871, it has the blank 6 screw neckplate and blank metal battery cover. it is trans blueburst.

edit: crap, realised i got my numbers mixed around. very sorry!

Ahh, a litlle transposing of numbers never hurt anybody! Well, I guess there are times it wouldn't be good ... anyways -

Yes, that is a bit better, except now it appears the neck is not original. According to our records, this bass originally went out with a maple neck. While neck swaps (at dealers or afterward) are frowned upon, they still happen. But the finish on this is definitely Blueburst, which makes the body poplar. The completion date is 6/8/89. It went overseas but not sure to which country.

Nice bass at any rate!

fkey, welcome and congrats! Your bass was completed on 2/12/03 and shipped to our French distributor. The finish is shown as Honeyburst and rosewood fretboard.

Cool -

BTW, I just retrieved my previous login/pwd. I had lost them, that's why I had logged as "fkey"... Sorry.
