Hey all, I am back from a long weekend ... Mike, it appears your bass has ceramic pickups as we started shipping them with Alnicos on March 8, 2008. Yours was completed on March 12 2007. We show the bass as a White maple, or as we like to say, an albino ...

Dan

Awesome, thanks yo. Appreciate it.

Dan,

I played a SR5 the other day at a GC. Its ser# E64811. It sounded different than other SR5's I've played. Did this one have the alnico pickup in it? Or was it a case of the strings hadn't gone dead yet.

Thanks

shep, if you mean it was different in a good way, then it is because it has the alnico pickup - if it was different in a bad way, then the setup was messed with and the strings were dead

Actually that serial number indicates the bass was made too early (2/15/07) to have the alnico pickup, so it would proabaly have to be the strings.

Dan

Thanks Dan, it looked too new and the strings were in good shape. Must have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for the last year.

Is it possible to get an approx ser# start for the alinco SR5's. I would really like to hear one (then maybe own one) That way in my travels I could just check ser# without posting "Is it alnico yet?"

thanks,

D.o.b. Sr5

My Stingray5 has S/N E18550, would very much appreciate more information on D.O.B. date of shipment and so on.

It's a beautifull Maple - H - Vintahe Sunburst - white pickguard. Bought in the Netherlands somewhere in 2001 (I believe).

Hello and Welcome!

This StingRay was done on 4/12/02 and sent to our German distributor, Musik Meyer. The color is called Burnt Apple which has since been discontinued.

Congrats on the new bass!

It looks like this one was done on 10/03/00 and shipped shortly afterwards to our distributor, Voerman Amersfoort.
