Hi,
Updating very soon. The pic is a bit dark but it looks like a Sunburst with Tort pg? I'm going for August 2002. . |

More Info
Hey Gav,
Here's some more info for your database. My two Sterlings are already listed, but are missing the specifics - they are natural / maple for F07176 and natural / rosewood for F06584. I noticed my SR5 was missing from the list. Serial is E20428, natural / maple, born in Jan 01. Cheers! b4J |

She had a black pickguard standard but it was changed to tort. Former owner got the PG from the MM factory. And the finish is Vintage Sunburst.

Registering with the serial number list.
New here today. How do I get my bass on your list?
I have a 1977 MM Stingray, Serial # B005358. The original neck is birds eye maple, June 3, 1977, small frets (not jumbo). I am the original owner. Although I have the original neck, the neck on the bass is a replacement sent to me in maybe 1981 or 1982. Seems a batch of necks was manufactured with a slight bow, so MM sent replacements made by some luthier in CA (I think). Has anyone heard about this? I would like to know the name of the luthier---he did a great job. Too long ago, can't remember. Anyway, the neck has the official TM logo, but has no string guide (is that what the thingy on the headstock is called?). OK, it came with one, I just never installed it. Played awsome already. I never had any desire to mess with it. Oh, jumbo frets on the replacement neck---not birds eye, though. |

Thanks for all the updates Guys
puzzled40...never heard of problems with the 1977 necks but there were problems with the 1982-3 necks. I'll be updating the serials very soon. What colour is the beast??? The guide is called a "String Tree". . |

The first one should be 1994 and the second 1996.
Thanks for the info. I'd be interested in full length pics of both. Also, with regards to both Basses, is it possible to do high res pics of: *headstock logos *neck plates (about to add a page to my website concerning neck plates) *bridges You can send to me via email: jarred90@optusnet.com.au . |

question:
in your list, the two Sterlings B0.... Are both listed as "rare" serial numbers... what is rare about em? I have one of these, but.. I don't notice anything odd about it... OH, also maybe something you have noted, or not is the change in the battery holder through the model line... my "94" has the screw plate batter compartment (much like my Stingray previous to it) and the "96" has a nice easy to change pop up battery compartment... It's late... I am blabbering... ignore me.
