I think it was Brian Ball who told me about the "B" serials. I don't think it has anything to do with the instrument itself, but rather those serials were limited in number (for whatever reason).

The plastic battery compartment was introduced in 1996.

Hey - I'm a newbie.

I bought my SR5 in Dec, 2002 or Jan, 2003. Serial #: E34536. Looking at other E3s listed on the Website, I'd guess mine to have been made Dec 2002. Sound about right?

thanx man........i figured so.

this thing sounds deadly.......can't stop playin it.

see i'm a drummer but lately the kids have been hittin the skins,and i suck at guitar so.....we jam all the time with me on this awesome unit and one of the kids on the skins.....what better way for us to practice huh.

Well, what the heck. E43143, bought new (supposedly just built) 10/04. 2 band SR, natural finish, black pg (originally tort as I was told), maple fingerboard.
