My old '76 fretless, listed for $5,100 (!!!!!) more than I sold it for a few weeks ago.

I saw that, and it killed me I missed your sale in TB by less than a minute. I would have paid you more for it, too, because I thought your asking price was low and I think you said you needed the funds to get married, so I was hoping to make that situation a little more cash positive for you...

No problem John, I didn't "lose" on the sale, as I picked it up for a good price a few years ago, so I'm not upset at all - more surprised at this guy's audacity than anything really. Realistically, $3000 is probably where it should top out, although a '77 fretted just sold on eBay for a little over $3000.

$7500 is crack smoking territory, even though he has gone to the trouble of buying a period correct case for $299 recently.

More parts there aswell...bridge, battery cover, neck plate, strap buttons and a Sabre pickup.

I've been looking for these. I wonder what the Buy It Now price was? And too bad he doesn't have the thumbscrews.

I wish someone would repop these.

ebay certainly has its share of pie in the sky dreamers.
There should be an SNL weekend update skit about it. You know the "really?" one.
This particular bass is rare? really?
You thought you could realistically ask that much for that instrument, in this depressed economy, really? you think you can ask multiple thousands for an instrument when your feedback is in the high teens. Really!
No photo, abrupt communication and hostile demeanor, really!?
(not this stingray seller, but I am sure you know the type)

The case is a good move, it saves a collector some running around. But still-- $7500. I guess it's not much for people with more money than sense, but I've never been among those ranks.

That's pretty funny, I've never seen that skit. But it sounds about right with some of the prices out there.

really?! they do it almost every weekend update. Or did when I last had a TV that had broadcast reception.
These days I am a stuck prick that only watches moooovies. on DVD via my way over-amped home theater system.
It's loud enough for a small venue, headroom ya know?
