Well Mr Guitar Tommy. What a charming person you are.

Perhaps I should leave your post here for a short time so others can see what you're like before it's finally deleted.

EDIT:

The offending Post has now been deleted.

Even though I am in deepest, darkest Mississippi, I have to ask myself: GUITAR Tommy?

Because he seems more like a lead singer to me.

(BP, I can find certain buttons if you'd really like me to.)

For those of us who saw the deleted post by the troll, I do 'bleeb a matchbox would be more than sufficient for the whole package

It is a shame when BP shares a story at this time of year and someone has to be so ornery and unthinking

A person such as that has some real issues I hope can be resolved someday for his own sake.........................

Sometimes I get tired of being magnanimous and reasonable.

This was one of those times.

Andrew, I hope things work out for you. GuitarT is Sir No Longer Appearing In This Film. People around these parts can attest to the fact that I personally don't often resort to that.

When anyone with some time in this forum takes the time and trouble to tell us about their family, their history, how they got here - no matter where they came from, we have to be smart enough to recognize that they've given us a little piece of themselves. In this particular thread, it was BP. It could have been Chuck or Koogs or Jon or even me, and as long as I'm a moderator, no one will be allowed to hijack such a thread in order to grind an axe.

Now let's get back to some real stuff.

Jack

Thanks Jack, all this negativity was really bringing me down especially when this thread started off on such a great foot.

Merry Xmas!

First of all I want to say Happy Holidays to you all! BP I really appreciate what you were trying to say...I think I speak for all of us when I say "You're more than welcome!!" Having a bit of time on this planet behind me (I'm 41 years young) and having the future of my 5 year old daughter in front of me I know exactly where you're coming from...All I can say is that the good times ahead will ALWAYS make up for what seems like the bad times behind you... and even though you can never really forget the bad times, they don't define you! You have done a wonderful job not only as a leader and an innovator, but as a human being. Even though we don't personally know one another as some of the other lucky folks here do, I can tell you this. I bought my first Ray in '86. It was a Beautiful 9lb natural finish that was made sometime in '82. I never thought to find out exactly when. I dragged her all over the world on hundreds (thousands??) of stages and in studios from coast to coast and across the globe and it never let me down once. She was my primary player for the better part of almost 20 years. Sadly, I lost her in a fire along with a lot of other gear a while back and was so convinced that I'd never be able to find another one like her that I didn't even look...

What a fool I was. I recently picked up a Butter Creme SR4 H and saw a Natural 4HH that I had to have and traded the BC for it. A friend of mine from Nashville was walking by my house and saw me out in the studio last Friday night and came in and played that Natural and HAD to have it for a gig the next day. We have been friends for about 30 years so naturally I cased it up and handed to him and told him to use it like it was his. That Sunday morning at about 8:30 I was having breakfast with the family and my buddy knocked on the door. I asked him in and he just started RAVING about that bass. He has been playing a '64 P, a '96 American Jazz and a G&L that was given to him by Leo as one of the first G&L dealers in the US!! He used to own a very successful MI store and was a session player in Nashville for 18 years and has been on the Opry so many times I have lost count so I tend to take seriously what he says when it comes to gear...He had never played a Ray on a date in all that time and had doddled around with them over the years but never "got it". He had tears in his eyes when he pulled out a check and begged me to sell him THAT bass. He said it was Providence that it had found him and he had to have it. The check was made out for $1000.00 which was less than I had paid for it. I didn't hesitate, I took the check and put it back in his pocket and told him to play it in good health and let it sink in a little before he jumped like that. We went out to my studio where I had been playing my Sad&*sky UV70 and he walked over and picked it up and played it for a second, took the check out of his pocket, tore it up and told me I HAD to give him a price for both of them! He had been looking for a '70's styled J Bass but hadn't found a "real honkin bass" like that!

That was this past Sunday morning. It just so happens that I traded the BC BACK to its owner in exchange for the Natural (which I saw and rescued on EvilBay)straight out. I had only had the HH long enough to give it a good setup and a fresh set of Slinkys. I played her out on one gig and then he got her AND I sold him my UV70...Sunday night I found a UV70 that weighs almost 2 lbs less (I am having some health issues so I did not play it live due to the weight) than the one I had AND I stumble on the 20th Anniversary SR5 thread BEFORE I bought an HHSR5 on Monday like I planned to do.....Needless to say, I am waiting for the 20th. If they are ANYWHERE as great as I think they will be I am in for a treat!!!

So what is the point ot all my babbling??? Things ALWAYS seem to work out the way they are supposed to!! I don't know why things have happened the way they have. I had not even looked for a new Ray since last summer when I lost mine. I got one sight unseen, had it about 2 weeks, sent it back to the guy I got it from who had ANOTHER GREAT EBMM that I now have sent to the home of my friend and he is in love with it...I have replaced my heavy UV70 and you guys will soon be making me an HH 20th with a maple board!!

Take the little steps, they seem to lead to big things...For all you guys out there that are having a tough time now, Stop and think of how much worse it could be! It may seem bad but it really ain't that bad...Pick up the phone and call somebody you love and tell em while you still can! Get in the car and go over to a friend's house or pick up the phone and reach out to somebody that might be glad to hear from you....

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S WAITING ON THE OTHER END......

God Bless you all and Happy Holidays!!

Peace,

T
