Dargie SR5: A Sad Day Indeed…

A Sad Day Indeed…

It’s been exactly 2 weeks since the arrival my Dargie Delight SR5 HH… I call him Dougle. I noticed from the initial trial at the dealer that something wasn’t quite right with the electronics. It sounded like a grounding issue to me, but I couldn’t be certain. I would get a crackling/static type of noise when I would tap on the pots or on the pick-guard around the control cavity.

I was reluctant to bring it back to the dealer at first because it wasn’t very noticeable, and quite frankly, I was having a great time getting to know this tone monster. Sadly, it worsened, the pre-amp began to cut out and the signal was distorting. Based on advise from the good folks at EBMM customer service, I brought it in to the dealer so that their technician could give it a once over.

To make a long story short, the tech. couldn’t determine the problem and the bass is going back to SLO. I can only hope that Dougle is back in my hands very shortly and the good folks in SLO will look after him. I have every confidence that this will turn out well. He ships out tomorrow morning.

Cheers,
Lou

I just got word that my DD is on its way home and shipping out of SLO today.
I still don't have any details as to what the problem was, but it has been repaired.

It's been a long 3 weeks and counting!

EB customer service is indeed awsome. They replaced ALL electronic components in my SR5 to make shure to catch the problem.

This company rocks!

It's in transit and should be here in a week or so... I can't wait to get it out on a gig!
