Why not? It would use the same preamp as the 4 and 5 . . . they don't change with string count . . . and since this one has a working pickup, methinks shes a player . . . . why else hand build a pickup?

Yes, this one is basswood like the last one- and it most definitely works.

That's the nicest looking raw basswood I've ever seen.

BP and I were talking about the Bongo 6 a couple of weeks ago and I said I liked them, very cool, but I can barely play a fiver so I'll never have one.

He said, "Oh sure, you will, just wait."

I CAN'T PLAY A SIXER! Remind me of this when these are available, Jon. I need someone to help me.

We are currently playing with some different body and neck woods to improve the balance of the instrument. If all goes well, we should have some with paint and pickguards in the next couple of weeks.

I'm definitely gonna have to get me one of those. I'd love to see one of those candy apple red. Yummy. Lookin good guys, keep up the excellent work.

I used to say that I cant' play a 5 string due to mu lack of muscles and the fact that my Bongo 4 does not feel light on my shoulders. So my bank account didn't had any shivers when I was admiring thos incredible 6 strings.
But since 3 weeks I'm playing a Bongo 5, which, even with piezzos, feels lighter than my 4 strings ! And I begin to feel slightly worried about finding other reasons not to buy a Bongo 6, than the weight...

That thing looks amazing. I'm profoundly jealous of those of you who will be able to try one of these out when they're released.

I passed on the Dargie, I passed on the 30th, I passed on the "special" L&M
(is that self-control or what?) but I am definately gonna get me one of those!

I was at the local store today, tried for the first time ever, a 6 string (was a Yamaha... it was okay, but...)
Anyhow, a 6 stringer is really cool, you have so much power at your fingertips... I can see this,
with a Bongo 6, you just blast the guitars away I never though this would be so much fun,
I almost bought the damn thing (hey I told myself, wait until the "real" one is available, LOL)

I will. And, I'll use flatwounds, too.

I wouldn't hold your breath for them to be released without pickguards. I've been wrong before, but I would be very surprised.
