given that the B on a StingRay 5 and Bongo 5 are practically the tightest Bs on any 34" scale basses the only thing you'd gain on a 35" scale 6 is a C that's a little too tight and possibly choked. A 34" scale C is gonna be a sweet less guitar-like sounding C from what I'd expect.

My 6 (not a Bongo 6...yet) is a 35" scale and feels great but the C is definitely a little on the tight side. So I do bleeeb that a 34" scale 6'er is gonna rock.
than the B's are rather thick strings?

.130 on the stock set.

The 34" B on my Bongo kicks Butt.

just as thick as other manufacturers Bs but the 'mojo' that's built into the SR5 and Bongo5 is what makes the playability on them so good.

I think 'mojo' means electronics, but I'm not sure. :S

Really time to check a bongo's B out then

actually, IMHO it has more to do with where they've placed the B string tuner, a bit further away from the nut than most manufacturers, that and also the bridge,[and also the way that they do a .130 Slinky... there's some mojo there too] but the electronics don't detract from the tone, that's for sure

I have had 34s 35s and a 36" scale bass the strength of the B string to me is more the culmination of the parts...position etc.like the birthday boy says...My main bass is 34" and the B is great....

After hearing the Bongo 6's, I must say they sound amazing live.

Just one quick question. I know Mr. Myung likes really tight spacing, so far as 16.5 mm (the reason I got rid of my Ibanez 6). I'm pretty sure EBMM does 17.5 on SR5's and Bongo 5's, but what's the spacing on the Bongo 6? If 17.5 I think I can adapt to it, but 16.5, while John's preference, kills my right hand.

IME, whenever I've tried basses that were offered in 5 and 6-string of the same model, the B-string always seemed better to me on the 6-string. I believe it's because the larger 6-string neck has more stiffness and provides for a less floppy B-string.

First of all, hi guys this is my first post here.

Just wanted to say that I saw Myung live just a few days ago and he used his new Bongos. The sound was awesome, just like the complete show.

Do we have an ETA on the bongo 6, and is it possible to do pre-orders in custom colours?

ETA: Nothing official. Expect to be able to order at NAMM in January unless BP or Dargin weigh in with information to the contrary.

Custom colors? It's never happened.....well, let's not say 'never'.....let's call it 'highly unlikely'.
