IMO, you found a whole new supply of stardust around 2006. I love those newer models!

Because of that, if I could only have one StingRay, I'd prefer to have a HH instead of sinlge H. BTW, while on the Bongo you can blend the pickups, on the StingRay there's a 5 position switch to select coils. I like this concept, because I can get a different sound by the flick of a switch.

Thanks for all the answers. No doubt my SR will be a HH. Unfortunately, I only have the chance to try a single H, so I won't be able to compare the sound with my Bongo. Anyone with both HH Bongo and HH SR who would take the effort and make a recording of both?
MrMusashi: I'd love to try your basses, but Tromsų is quite far away from me, I live in Porsgrunn ![]() The best would of course be to keep the Bongo and buy a SR4, and I really can't decide between them, so maybe I'll just work 24/7 and buy one ![]() Btw, is it possible to get the 2009 limited edition with HH humbuckers?

there is only the 25th anniversary this year so no 2009le for the other models. im looking forward to hearing the production line name for it
![]() as for pickup combinations im also a sucker for the hh models. flick a switch and you got a different sound. if youre not sure sell the bongo and use the money to get a sr. they are different but you still feel the origin they both came from! MrM

Prediction: You'll want your Bongo back. Save up for a Stingray.

I've made up my mind, and I can't see any other option than to keep my Bongo and buy a SR after a while. I just can't get rid of my close-to-perfect-Bongo

See? I told you many posts ago, that is the only thing that will make perfect sense.
This morning I almost bought another Bongo, but I lost it on eBay to a higher bidder, it was a bargain and in very good conditions, one of the reasons I was interested in this one is because that it was a 4 strings HS stealth, and I haven't played a 4 strings for years, so I was tempted to recapture my bearings on a bass without the comforts of a low B, just a personal challenge I guess, but some lucky punter got it and that would be a very lucky man at the price he won it for, have a look: Musicman Bongo Stealth HS - Music Man - Mint on eBay, also, Bass, Guitars, Musical Instruments (end time 28-Feb-09 09:56:02 GMT)

Wow, that's an amazing bass. Original PG? I saw a 4 string Bongo with Sapphire black finnish yesterday. It was beautiful! I want another Bongo
![]() I really want a SR4 with two humbuckers, but I have to admit that the 30th anniversary looks really good. Even though it doesn't have two pickups nor a piezo. Same for the 2009 LE. Looks amazing

I'm gonna go with the stingray. I have the HH and love it. I've played bongos several times, but they just don't sound as good to me, nor do they feel anywhere near as solid as a stingray.
