Sterling By MusicMan Prices

How come the prices of SBMM guitars and basses are so expensive in Australia compared to other countries like the US or the UK?

In the US the Ray34's cost about $650 (which is around 750 aussie dollars), but here in Australia the average price i've seen is about $2000AU and the cheapest I think I've seen is around $1700!

Here you could get a used Stingray for that price and for an extra $500 you can get a brand new one at $2500..

I'm just wondering why they are so expensive over here in Oz..

Import costs and all that other stuff. And yea buying used or a new one is a more viable option.
