Question Anyone ever seen this type of pickguard for sale?

Hey all, been lurking here for ages and after looking this up cant find information on it anywhere.

Anyway im a proud owner of a Musicman sterling 4 and the one thing i never really liked was the way it looked or to be precise its pick-guard. Ive always liked the look of the stingray 5's pick-guard and after a bit o photoshopping i came up with these mock ups:

Has anyone seen these type of scratch-plates for sale anywhere or will i have to go about getting them made custom? Any ideas where i could get it done, and any guesses on the price? Thanks guys!

Yeah its a concern i have myself, Still though couldnt see myself going back to the regular pick-guard as im not a fan of the look of it. Also could never see myself parting ways with my bass as its the nicest ive ever played and it fits me like a glove.

Anyone know anywhere where they make up custom scratch-plates online(and as im Irish european sites are preferable)

Also has anyone ever seen this done by anyone out there before?

I have to admit it. Of all the things I've seen people do (or want to do), this is the first time I've seen that.

It certainly is a unique thing, but if you would prefer it like that and can stand to drill the extra holes in your bass, then by all means do it, it's your bass and it's meant to be played an enjoyed!

As for places to get it done, try sims custom shop, UK based company. google them, you'll find them. They'll do you any shape if you send them a template for about £30.

neato

maybe its just the angle of the pic and the association with that pg shape with the sr5, but it makes the body look wider

Not to derail the thread in any way, but where could I purchase Sterling by Music Man RAY34 pg's?

You don't suppose I can get them from SBMM dealers do you?

Ah yeah i totally forgot about sims. Yeah next thing now is how to make a template. Anyone out there got one for a standard stingray 5 so i can use that as a basis?

Also having a bit of problem deciding which finish to go for, leaning to either the pearloid black or the pearloid white. Opinions?
