Those are some very special basses. Maybe varnished necks? That would really put the icing on the cake for me. (OK - not so important but how about chrome battery covers). Sorry if I sound kinda precious about this but I've had the pleasure (and very good fortune) to have owned a few of the earlier StingRays in my time and I absolutely LOVE them. (Currently own and gig a 1990 'Ray in beautiful Blueburst).

For those regulars I have always said that I didnt want to do this and that we would do this when we ran out of ideas. We arent out of ideas but there is demand and workers to pay and who says you cant offer it all?
This is just so true. You need to go to where the market is. And much to my surprise there seems to be quite a bit of interest here. So, a good move by EBMM. OK - these are just “Too Fendery” for me – so it is a pass. But, the spice of life is the wide variety of taste and styles in the bass player world and it sounds like many much-much patrons will be made very happy with these StingRays. This is a good thing.

And it is good that the reissue is like the original. I know with the EB3 reissue a lot of people took exception that they lost the varitone switch. It was replaced with a regular pickup selector. Sure – the real switch back then needed jiggled in place and many people replaced it anyway (I did) but the point is you want the reissue to have the look and features of the older model it emulates. So, I give kudos to EBMM for doing this right.

Now – as some mentioned. What about us Bongo guys? :-( Maybe time to start the “Dream Bongo” thread? :-)

Smile colour me excited

Hey BP & the EBMM "Colour Guard" first off, I really applaud this entire "Classic" visual concept, and thank you for this burst of StingRay excitement, however, there are 3 other colours I think you need to consider before closing off the palette:- LEMON, SANDALWOOD, and FLAMINGO, sorry I don't have any samples to show, but I'm sure you all can imagine what I mean once you start "playing" ,

I just read through this whole thread. Quite a lot of excitement.
I'm ready to order one today.
What is the fingerboard radius? This wasn't mentioned anywhere. 7.25? 9.5 to 12?
