Unbelievable! Leaving the hang tag on the headstock was a nice touch. I bet that one sold pretty quickly after Tony put it down, once it stopped smoking.

What a beautiful bass!

What a fat and dark woody tone comes from that fingering near the neck!

First part with those sticks and heavy background I don't like much, but in second half this man really rocks!

I can't make decision is it better bass or bass man!

Well done mister Tony Levin, sir!

damn!

He just went way up on my list of favorite musicians

It sounds like he's losing the beat but he's obviously on top of it - that is impressive, weird time signatures perhaps. What a sense of tone.

Wow, just wow!

Yeah, its amazing how moving your hand from the bridge to the neck can change the tone so much...

Seems like awesome bass players like Tony understand this well, and use it...

I have a couple of pairs that I bought off his website ages ago and I use them on and off. NOT easy to play with cut off drum sticks attached to the fingers. Lots of practice is needed. But it´s good fun.

That's music from the first Liquid Tension Experiment CD. 3 members of Dream Theater with Tony on bass and Stick. All instrumental progressive music. Both worth checking out.

Derek/BP:

Is there any footage of Tony talking to the audience? I always enjoy hearing his views on the bassplayer biz.

Tony is a genius and a very nice guy and I have proof...

Anyone that would pose with a drunk wind controller player AND total stranger is a nice guy!

Thanks BP, I would never have a picture like this without you.
