Tracked down my old fretless Ray!

I have been searching for this bass as I seriously regret selling it.

It is absolutely beautiful, the grain on the body and neck absolutely insane. Perfect fingerboard, old style bridge, awesome.

Well sure enough, I found it. It's now in Transilvania. That's quite a long way from home...

I'm sure I can convince the guy to sell it back to me, and I'm sure I can come up with the money.

This is my quest!

Zak

Transylvania and your profile pic make me nervous.... You´ll get your bass back with bite marks on it´s neck..... You know that Stingrays have blood in them, do you? Living creatures indeed. And now there is a fretless bass that is now a vampire. It will bite other instruments so that they turn into vampires as well......

New Musicman bass model? Big Vlad.......

If you get it back you may only be able to play it at night. Hopefully it wasn't impaled.

Further advances in my quest have been made! I have now discovered that it had left Transylvania and is currently on its way to a man in Greece. This just keeps getting more complicated...it's been around the world to get to me and across europe from there - it's swapped hands many times in the past year.

I'm keeping track...

Zak, does that mean that the man in Transylvania is selling it to someone in Greece? or is the bass actually on its way to you, bizarrely across Europe? Did you contact him and succesfully secured a purchase? I am intrigued.

No Fran, I contacted the guy in Transylvania and he said he has literally just traded it for a Warwick with some guy in Greece. And it's been to Germany before that - who knows where it will end up next before I can get my hands on it again.

So, if it is a travelling bass, it will come back to you anyways. Sooner or later.

Patience is a virtue...

Maybe this is like one of those thing people used to do with garden gnomes. Kidnap them from a neighbours yard, then taunt the former owner with postcards or photos from exotic places all over the world. Perhaps you should request your bass does the same, so at least you can live vicariously through its travels as it makes it's way back home to you...
