Cleaning up the new Baby

I just picked up my first and long awaited Music Man Bass for a steal!! There is a small nick in teh body by the controls and the neck is very dirty but other than that the bass plays flawlessly.

What are the recommendations for cleaning the neck and is it possible to fix the nick that is down to the unpainted wood?
