Youre right Derek. I met Tim after an Atlanta show and talking to him was like talking to a brother. He also plays GK amps, which was a common bond.

Hes been a Sterling player for a long time, and once the Dual pup Sterlings are out, Im sure he will be playing one as his main bass.

Yeah, it seems he's playing Lakland.
What I would like to know, is what modifications did he have done to his gold sterling??? I see the knobs aren't standard... could the electronics/pick-up be different? I can't see if it's a stock pick-up. Just watched the 'behind the scenes' footage on the new disc and his axe sounds ridiculously good, even in backstage/ hand held footage - so defined.
Can anybody shed some inside info on this topic???
thanx a lot

Looks like his girlfriend saw him with another woman and now he's trying to tell her "nothing happened."

Tim Replied back and said nothing is different in the electronics. He simply had the knobs changed to some cool looking vintage ones he found at Radio Shack.

thanks

Thanks so so much, Derek.
Tim has been super cool in giving up valuable and personal info, many guys are too far up themselves to part with their knowledge!
BTW, I have been A/B - ing many "high end" basses to my Stingray maple neck... simply in a different league! I can say that with all confidence (eventhough I'm endorsed by another brand... sshhhh)
Hate to be a pest but could I ask for one more favour??
Could you possibly find out what brand and gage his strings are???
Just a big fan, on the quest for better and better tone - you know how it goes!
Much Respect,
Spappy_Ong
