Lightbulb OLP JP Refinish!

After ordering my EBMMJP about after the first month or two I started to really anticipate it's arrival. So, to keep my mind off of the EBMMJP I started a little project. This is the end result, took me awhile to finish as this was my first experiment like this, but I think it turned out pretty good! Originally I had planned to stain both the headstock and the body, however, I got tired of not playing guitar for awhile so I just put some satin clear coat on it! (I know there's an Ibanez there, but even after playing OLP's cheap version of the JP, it's just not as good anymore!)

Thanks to my friend (and soon to be brother-in-law) for being kind enough to upload these so I could post 'em!

That oil finish is SICK. I love it. How did you do that?

I stripped it and pretty much just clear coated it once I got down to the wood, I didn't know basswood looked that good. lol

The headstock has a touch of stain to it as originally I was going to paint it in a Mystic Dream-esque style, however, that didn't work out to well so I had to resand the headstock and went a tad deep so I used some stain to make it a bit darker. Originally I had planned to stain the body as well, but I couldn't stand playing the RG for the 3 weeks in between so I just put a couple coats of stain clear on the body and put it back together.

I have an Ibanez that I totally had custom repainted and everything, but I HATE the wizard neck on that thing. Those skinny necks just suck and it never leaves the case.

Oh, of course not! That would be blasphemy!

I can't stand the necks on the RGs anymore either...it's really just sitting here collecting dust I think I'll retire to it's case it until I can put some 9's on it (may help playability as there's 10s on there right now).

New JP. Remember there is no set date on when it will/ever go into production.

Old JP Avaliable now. The only difference is the on now currently has the D-Sonic pickup.

You also forgot to mention the thinner lower horn, and the removal of the recessed arm rest to be replaced by a tradtional cut away plus the addition of the pick up rings.....and the neck binding...
