+1! I initially wanted a BBB BFR but then saw some pics that made it look more green than blue so I changed my mind. Then the Tobacco Burst finish was announced. It was all over then!!! I just passed the three month mark in the wait process for mine so I should see it VERY soon...

That greeny-blue, aquamarine color comes from the angle the light hits the guitar and the camera used. I've taken a lot of pictures of my guitar and I know when it looks blue or aqua... I actually prefer the aqua look because it makes the guitar look like ripples on the water. :-) Lookup serial number G39927 in the BFR picture thread (December 12, 2007, I believe) and it's blue there. :-)

But yeah, I love the tobacco burst models, too. I wish I had the cash to order one because having two is pretty much necessary if you use an alternate tuning.

As a 1st time user to these forums I hope I am making this picture post properly. I was fortunate enough to aquire one of these beautiful BFR guitars. This is by far the most well built guitar I have ever seen...in Bahamaburst no less!

I know this is one of the earlier ones since Mike signed it '07. If there are any resources available for serial # tracking please drop me a line...i've looked all over the internet but I haven't found anything yet (a great bass guitar serial tracking site, but nothing for guitars).

universe,
that's a sweet axe, i guess you got it secondhand? call me crazy, but i would NEVER have anyone sign the front of a beautiful quilt top i paid so much money for. still, doesn't change the sound or playability does it! nice purchase.

Lightbulb

thanks! Another thing I wanted to see is if anyone had any suggestions on how to protect the signatures. Because the top is so beautiful and it's such an amazing sounding guitar I don't want to have it sprayed (thats such a scary thought to me, because i figure having it sprayed perfect is like black magic, only the best of the best would be able to do it properly and have it look perfect, and even then it might be a crap shoot)

I put a few coats of gerlitz #1 carnuba wax on it..good idea? I figured while not permanant it will provide a good measure of protection and i'll just have to make a mental note to wax it everytime i change strings.

anyone have anyother suggestions or products to look into?
