John Petrucci BFR Pics!!!!!!!!

Here is a Walnut Burst JP7. The body is made of alder, mahogany tone block, and maple top. The neck is mahogany. I'll get more BFR pictures up tomorrow!

Is the back contour different from the original JP6 and 7?

That looks fantastic!!!



As a newbie, can someone please tell me what a "mahogany tone block" is and what impact it has on the tone? Does it warm up an otherwise bright alder body?

Wow...that is really perty. As much as I like the look, I think I prefer the unfinished neck - which means I can order an LE with a clear conscience!

Mike, the neck is Mahogany, so that may very well be unfinished.. just a different wood than we're used to seeing. Only the SLO folks know for sure!
