Question about finishes
OK, let me ask a silly question, regarding flame and quilt finishes...
...how are these finishes created? Are they already part of the grain of the wood, and then the stain/color is carefully applied to show off this grain? Or does a luthier have to do something special to create the effect? Sorry if this sounds like a n00b question... I just never bothered to find out prior to now.

Does anyone know if you can order a specific Luke BFR from a EBMM dealer, or are they not taking any new orders at the factory?

Jeffrey you can order on e but we prefer it if you buy it from a dealer that has it in stock to make sure that it is all ypu are looking for. WHen you order it you have zero control if it is flame or quilt...luck of the draw....I would watch the BFR photo threade that dargie dies as we post all of the bfrs made and the destination.

Gotcha...i was just going to try to give my local dealer a little more buisness ( i ordered the axis from him), but I understand about the tops being luck of the draw when you order unseen.
