Maybe he's referring to the older Wilkinson version?

the bar certainly screws in like a strat one...I was just wondering how big the threads are..

No, I bought it from Lark Street Music in Teaneck NJ. I swear, the arm I got it with screwed in...and in fact when I went to work (I teach at a music store in FL) I used one of their shop lights to see the threads in the hole. In fact a standard 10-32 Strat Trem arm screws in....My guess is someone along the way modified it??? How do I get it back to the way it is supposed to be???

All Music Man tremolos have pop-in tremolo arms. We have never used threads on those. The tremolo arm you had must have been the wrong one to begin with.

My suggestion would be to contact Music Man to obtain the correct trem arm. You can can call us at 866-823-2255.
