Silhouette pickguard/pickup module
Hi
I read somewhere about the pickguard and pickups of the silo special being a unit that is changeable without re-wiring (connector slides in). Is this true? Couple other questions if anyone knows answer please -if you have a sss pickup config can you go to the ssh config just by unscrewing and clipping new guard/pups unit in? -how long has this setup been going? would a 2005 silo special have the clip system? -what is the UK retail on a silo special? any info/photos etc greatly appreciated! thanks Ryan |

yep, takes about 5 minutes if u have a complete pickguard ready for exchange. the only problem that may occur is that AFAIK specials can't take humbuckers at neck position (but I'm not 100% sure). -how long has this setup been going? would a 2005 silo special have the clip system? my 1996 silo (non-special) has the clip -what is the UK retail on a silo special? ?? - any info/photos etc greatly appreciated! ![]()

They do sell them. Contact your local dealer, or call customer service. They do sell the pickguards fully loaded, as well as blank PG's.

I didn't know they still sell the complete assembly. I heard they used to, though. Can anyone else confirm this?

You can buy them new. Maybe Tommy or someone will jump in here.

Yes, but I'm in Germany. It was not a nice experience to order the pickguard. The nearest EB dealer was about 10 km away. I phoned him a few times but didn't get the pickguard before i visited him personally to speed up things. The whole story took about 1 1/2 months.

If your last comment was directed to mine:
I meant buy on the open market. I forgot what they're called, but I don't believe they're an EB owned product. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. |

They're called molex connectors. Not sure where you get them from, or how they're wired.
