Talking Look what came home with my for my birthday!

Well I just turned 25 yesterday and my stimilus check came this week so I had some funds laying around. Combine that with my recent hardcore GAS for another EBMM JP model and you get the following:

The guy bought it in 2003 (or so he said, anyone know for sure if this was a 2003 model?) brand new and played it a few times only to throw it in the case. He had Petrucci sign it at a clinic he held at WMC and then again put it back in the case. It still has the stock (corroded now ) strings on it and the board hasn't been oiled since then. I think once I get it oiled up back to a natural glow this thing is going to be a killer addition to my harem. Check out all that birdseye in the neck too!

The pictures are from the seller so I'll take some better ones once the sun comes back out again. I was just so excited that I had to share and spread the JP goodness!

Does anyone know if there is any chance that EBMM might switch back to the older JP DiMarzio custom-wound pickup in the bridge position? I've had a few JPs now but they were all post D-Sonic era and I didn't realize how great they could sound stock since the D-Sonic (IMO) does a great disservice to these fantastic guitars in the bridge position. I *REALLY* love these older bridge pickups, much nicer tone to them and seem to work great for metal.

First nice score how cool is that to be signed by JP, nic way to spend the extr cash, as far as pickups JP like the D-Sonic and until he says different i imagine it is staying, i love the D-Sonic, but congrats on a cool axe

Congrats! I really love the way JP signed on the guitar. Look so professional, so dedicated - definitely a perfect match with the production sig on the headstock. Btw, the Blue Dawn is such an amazing color! Those wanting one should not wait, go grab those LE07 JP off the floor now I say!!

That's AWESOME! Great score!

Don't let anyone tell you those pics are "photo shopped" :O) I occasionally get slack for my bluedawn pics having so much sparkle.

I love all the birdseye! Looking at that neck you'll have more birds eye winking at you than a flock of seagulls! HA HA!

Very nice oirignal Blue Dawn. Blue Dawn was made from 2000-2002, so he might have the date of birth off, create a thread and someone should be able to help you tomorrow sometime.

Signature looks great! Nice find. I have an old school JP bridge pickup laying around, maybe I should throw it in there...

Fantastic, and look at that neck!

Congrats, Blue Dawn is my favorite color - especially on the JP, I have a soft spot for it.

God I love that color, and that's a particularly awesome example of it. The burst stays dark at the edges for longer than some I've seen, it looks great.

High,

If that is the BD Pet from Craig's List, G21359, I already did a serial # search on it. The D.O.B. is 10/17/02.

Congrats!

Thanks for all the nice comments and birthday wishes guys! This is hands-down one of the best JPs I've played (I've owned a couple now) and it sounds great! I really dig the finish too, very unique. I LOVE the Mystic Dream finish (that's what I had on my JP7) but this one just really struck me as different and I had to jump on it!

Awesome, thanks man! So it's a 2002 model, great to have all the info on it!
