BIG thanks to BP and everyone at EBMM
Two years ago, I smashed my left hand in a mountain biking accident. Luckily I did not crush the bones in my fingers. But unfortunately, I could see my index finger knuckle after the accident...I lost a lot of skin. Weeks of healing and some PT later, I was able to bend that finger again, but it was very difficult to play guitar.
Long story made short, I found it too difficult to play my cherished (and very nice) guitars made by another company. I spent the better part of 1.5 years looking for a guitar that I could play and that would not fatigue my left hand after 1/2 to 1 hour of playing. I' m now happy to report that my search ended a while ago with the Petrucci model. The neck is fantastic. That, combined with so many other great features makes me understand for the first time what it's like to feel like the guitar is an extention of yourself. My EBMM collection consistes of a fully loaded Petrucci and a Petrucci BFR. They are functional art. Thanks to everyone at EBMM for making this gear. My ability to play guitar would otherwise be compromised. One last thing: I've had the occasion to interact with people in 2 customer service: AJ and Dan. They were outstanding in working with me. A great product and great people makes a great company. Thanks! Marc

Sorry to hear about the hand (I cringed thinking what I would do in that situation), but I'm glad things worked out okay in the end.

I live for playing music, I don't know what would I do if something like that happened to me. Congrats on pulling trough and finding your gear complement! Now post some picks! (of the guitars, not the accident! )

welcome mate!! loved reading your post
the JP's are amazing guitars (the neck, the contours, the features).. hence why i have 2, and will have a 3rd on the way later this year have not played anything better..i was kindof in the same boat.. except my back was my achilles heel (have always had a bad back).. used to play a heavy lespaul, and couldnt play standing up for more than half an hour before my back would ache... but since getting the JP i can play for hours standing up and not get fatigued... and ive heard that the AL's are quite a bit lighter than the JP's!! so they must be VERY light! ![]()

Thanks for the responses.
I'll take a MM family portrait soon and post pictures of my Petruccis. This discussion board has a great vibe. I look forward to getting to know you all better in the future. Best, Marc

Sorry to hear about the accident but glad to hear it's all working out for ya
![]() Gonna hi-jack for a mo and agree......AJ is a top guy. I emailed CS asking for a wiring schematic for the BFR JP6. Next day there it was. EBMM CS is in a class of it's own!

Good to hear that this guitar is working out for you - a neck is a very personal thing.

The petrucci's are hands down the best guitars I've ever played, nice to see that you found yours too.

About three years ago, I had a similar experience with a chopsaw at work. Since I have healed, the only way that I have been able to play for any good length of time is with my recently acquired JP BFR. Sure my PRS and LP are great guitars in their own right, but my EBMM is by far the most well thought out, well engineered instrument that I have ever laid fingers and eyes on.
I too have had the pleasure of dealing with AJ. Unfortunately, I had to send my beloved guitar in for service and it should be back any day now. Out of all of the manufacturers that I deal with (not just musical instrument manufacturers, mind you) EB is by far the best. I can't seem to praise them enough for how well they take care of their customers. I looked long and hard to find a great guitar to play, little did I know that I would also find a great company to deal with should I ever have a problem. But seriously, good luck on your continued recuperation and therapy, tis a hard road back, but well worth it once you get there. Kudos to you and kudos to the great people at EB! p.s. I think this is, like, my fourth post about how great they are. perhaps there should be a sticky about just how exceptional their CSR's actually are. just a thought.
