Looks like a real giggin' guitar. I'm thinking about leaping bass and bullet hole decals for mine.

I got my axis ss tuned it to d and its a monster. Now I am thinking its time to get a new amp. I have a line 6 flextone and i like the flexability of it. However I have tube envy. What I am looking for is a good clean channel and a tight high gain. If I need a pedal to push it thats ok , but would rather not. 20-50 watts I want to stay with a combo. $1500 max and I dont whant it made in china. Metal unite.

You could find a used Mesa Boogie Mark IV for under $1500 probably. They have a tight high gain channel, decent crunch channel, and a really nice clean channel. I have two of them and I love em'.

Laney GH50L. Flying way under the radar, as all Laneys are. Not bullet proof like Mesas or Z's etc, but entirely gig-worthy. Things like plastic jacks are weak and annoying, but can be lived with or replaced. Will go from Plexi to Blackface and lots in-between. I just got one, my third Laney, along with a Mr Springy reverb. These can be found, used, for under $600. New, a grand. Once familiar with it, it kicks ass.

Word to John 5. His instrumental stuff doesn't move me the way that some of my other favorites do, but he can step up and do some business. His stuff with K.D. Lang was pretty good, and his tunes for David Lee Roth were hooky. Slam Dunk? C'mon.

K. - I've been playing through a Flextone professionally for the last several years and I'm totally with you. I've been debating losing the combo and going for a rack system, but I can't decide what to invest in. I'm debating getting a Pod XT and running it through a tube power amp or dusting off my old Triaxis and acquiring a decent rack FX unit. I'm not exactly rolling in dough, so I need to come up with some creative ways to demo this stuff!!

I've been thinking of ordering an Axis Super Sport for several reasons, one of which was the reason for this thread. I have an Axis on order (my first ball), but also need a guitar to handle alternate tunings.

Maybe I can donate a kidney on the black market....
