Welcome to the Addiction!

Yeah...I play and love extreme metal. However, this is a forum for the EBMM and related brand of guitars, strings and accessories.

If we get a spot for extreme metal on the forum...then we would have to have 100's more for the other genre's. Then the forum would get clogged up with my rock is better than your rock kinda thing.

I would love to talk to you about extreme metal...but...we should do that on IM, e-mail, Myspace, etc.
Hit me up....

I just play out of tune.

If you're planning to talk about extreme metal itself, it might make more sense in the general music discussion forum. However, if you are thinking that you'd discuss the technical aspects of setting up or configuring EBMM guitars to play extreme and dropped metal, then this thread might make sense here... my 2 cents..

Hey Gormley,

Yeah, my Axis is a monster down low!!! I'm experimenting with a few different pick up configurations.

What amp/speaker set up are you running your Morse thru??

the start of something

I was thinking its more of the technical set up side of heavy guitar music. I was not thinking it should be this band or this guitar player or style is the best. However low tunings on the 25.5 scale have there own issues. I am new to the forum but have been playing guitar for 17 years. This can also be good for those playing a jp7string or the 6 sting bass/ baritone. Amps and pickup discussion or whatever. If this is unwanted it will die on its own.

I am running a line 6 flextone 1..I got it when modeling amps were a new thing 8 or 9 years ago and it still rocks. Mostly I go staight into my competer for recording.
thinking of getting a engl, or something for live gigs.

ebmm steve morse ... drop c
fender hw1 ....d
gibson sg .....b

pick ups

One thing i have kind of noticed that articulation and attack is much more important for my tone so i lowerd all my pickups . This is realy seeming to clean up my attack but its still crushing. Not as muddy. Any thoughts. I also like passive pick ups way better.

I see what you are saying. I misunderstood at first. Yeah...extreme metal and it's tunings are a different animal all together. We play in Dropped C as well. Luckily, I play the bass and it is much easier for me to have tuning stability...especially with my bongo's...

Engl? Get Pete Dubaldo on this very forum to quote ya! He is a dealer and he also sells Engls. Might be worth checking out. He is a straight up cool dude.
