Shane I love that guitar, but a black ice would look great as well, still an awesome guitar - like a better superstrat than a strat -

That was pretty much the intention behind it

And yeah, some variation of black was my second choice.

Pickguard in isolation doesn't mean much IMHO. You have to show it on a guitar to tell if it works or not.
I wholeheartedly agree! Tort pickguards look great on some guitars, but not so great on others. It looks really cool on that Bongo.

I think that Tort has a time and a place that's for sure. White looks excellent and very classic with Tort, but that's just me.

Really diverse tastes among us, which I think is a cool thing.

In general, I want my pickguard to blend, not to make a statement bigger than the wood it's attached to. It also works well with contrasting pickup and knob colors. That's why tort often works for me: it blends with strong primal colors, like black, white, sunburst or blue. I've been jonzin' for a black/tort/rosewood SSS ever since GH and I were talking about the new Special he ordered - which he changed at the last moment to ah bologna.

Hahaha, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, I love pickguards like the ones on Vai's RMR guitar. Mirrored and flashy!

Or none at all.

Really gotta keep that "poo poo platter" in mind. I nearly fell off my chair...

OK now, we got piercing, everybody raving in pros & cons about tort guards, but I see no other ugly PGs pics from you guys. No one has some ?!? C'mon !

...I didn't start this as an "I hate tortoise PGs" thread after all.

Let's see some more PGs, please !!!
