Economy pulling used guitar prices down?

I'm a craigslist addict and because of it have picked up a number of guitars in the past since I'm the first one to respond (including my Sub 1).

In the last month, I've noticed a breaking in prices consistantly across brands. I've come "this close" to buying 2 sub 1's that were almost too good to pass and see the dreaded 1000 pound gorilla company US made guitars breaking price and dropping like flies. Anyone else notice this going on?

I'm watching out for.....well.....everything.....but anything EBMM or EVH related. The older, pre-EBMM EVH's seem to be lower in price than Axis to begin with. Another 20% drop and I'd "have" to buy one.

I think so. The gas prices have everyone in a bind, and people need money asap, it seems. No matter how nice it is to find cheap used guitars; I really hope it doesn't get much worse

It's just the economy in general Jack. Housing crisis, gas a Nomad said, cost of food and everything in general. This the recession people, everything drops during this time.

Good luck too all and hope that layoffs don't strike anyone. Glenn |B)

A recession? NAH, no way!!!

Seriously though, I'm sick of the news stations asking if we are in a recession... They've asked at least once a week for the last year and a half... if you have to ask so much, the answer should be obvious. Experts, my ASS!

Normally I don't watch such things, but they have those channels on the TV at work and I have nothing else to do while I wait for the computer then watch them babble on about an economy that "could be headed toward recession"every freakin day.... UUGH

*gets off soap box*

Er... guitars are awesome.

I have and I haven't. On the guitar that I've been trying to sell for several months, all I can get is rock bottom offers. Granted, it's a bit of a niche brand, but I can't even get a decent offer from fans of the brand.

On the other hand, there are a few guitars that I'm looking to buy, and there's been no letup in price on any of them. Every time I try to pick one up on the Bay, it ends up going for way more than it's worth IMO. Guess it just depends on what you're looking for.
