Another guitar dissaster? :(

This might be premature, but it seems that I have once again found myself with a Desert Gold JP7 in someone else's possession.

We played a gig at a big amusement park last night and in the frey of loading in decreasing light, my JP7 and Ibanez JPM did not make it back home. I called the park and they did not find anything so it would seem that someone took off with them.

Maybe an employee got them and just hasn't turned them into the main office yet, but that seems rather unlikely to me so...

Two JP7s gone in 2 years, and 5 total guitars gone in 3 and a half years.

No insurance to save me this time so I'm outta luck... and guitarless... Well, I have a couple of cheaper guitars... one with a broken truss rod. My other Ibanez has a broken headstock.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm fighting a battle I shouldn't be fighting and just need to find out what I'm really supposed to do in life. Sometimes playing guitar doesn't seem to be it.

OMG that is horrible, I really hope you get them back. I hardly say any mean things but if someone took them they deserve a beating.

Btw, I've been trying to do some research and have thought a buying a GPS microchip and putting it on my JP when I get it. I don't know if it's a stupid idea but...........

Dude that really sucks. That has to be really frustrating given that you have already lost one before. I sure hope it turns up.

BTW I don't know what your "calling" in life may be, but there is no need to give up playing, at least continue for your own enjoyment.

If I had 'lost' that many guitars I'd start wondering if I was doing the right thing...

Maybe you should be closer to them while they're being transported. I know I carry mines myself...

If you're in a position that you don't need to be beside them then make sure you're paying someone you trust to do the job.

BTW. I'm sorry for your loss man. I can't even imagine having one of my EBMM stolen.

Kevin,

My heart dropped when I read this!!! There's so much "emotional" pain we feel when something like this happens.

The "stupid" things I've done (or not done) over the years, makes me feel very fortunate that I haven't had to deal with this on a regular basis.

It's really a good lesson to all of us who get really "laxed" after a while. We start letting down our guard, not keeping a close on on our gear, not being observant of "who's around our equipment in the midst of the "setting up/breaking down" kaos!

Mesa...I have been through a few disasters myself. They suck...but...never question yourself about playing. I have learned a few lessons especially when I gig.

1. Never ever lose sight of your guitars and gear.

2. Always have someone you trust near said gear if you have to run off somewhere. (In my case, it is either another band member or my girlfriend)

I am sorry about your loss man....but...I am throwing out good vibes for you and for the return of your guitars.

Sorry to hear about your JP7 Kevin. I've never had that happen, but the only advice I can give you is keep your guitars close and if you have to be away from your gear for an extended period, ask a friend to keep a watch on it, or maybe ask if you can put it in the club/bar owner's office or something that way its safe until you return.

Jeez that sucks bad. It's never happened to me but happened to a band member who (30 years ago) left his '70 Strat in it's case propped up against the venue wall!

I always have someone in the venue and by the vehicle when I load / unload - you gotta nail it down these days otherwise it walks!!

Once again very sorry to hear about it.

Terribly sorry bro. I'd beat someone badly if they tried to walk away with my guitar and I caught them... it's totally justified IMO.

Thats why I personally load and unload my own equipment. I couldn't stand to have even a cable stolen let alone a guitar. I'm sorry for your loss. It'll prolly show up somewhere. Maybe Ebay. Some tool stole 2 or 3 $50,000+ guitars from GC and they were found on Ebay a week or so later.

Well bro I'm so speechless after reading this! I'm so sad from what happened to you! Don't give up playing. Better things are on their way! Learn from mistakes. Godspeed!
